Calcipotriol (also known as calcipotriene and marketed under the brand name Dovonex) is a synthetic derivative of calcitriol, the active form of vitamin D. It is a topical medication primarily used to treat psoriasis.
Patented in 1985 and approved for medical use in 1991, calcipotriol is listed on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines.
